About the Club

On November 7, 1927, The Propeller Club of the United States as a national and international organization was formed. In 1932, the Propeller Club began to expand to overseas ports. The national membership comprises a cross section of the maritime industry throughout the United States and in many cities overseas. Today, The Propeller Club is the largest maritime association in the United States and currently has 33 International Ports throughout the world.

The Propeller Club, Port of Searsport and Bucksport, received their charter in November 1991. The club has over 30 members, including fleet operators, deck and engine officers, Insurance agents, Chandlers, Tug Boat Operators, and others.

The Club is dedicated to promoting commerce in the ports surrounding the Pen-Bay area. Its central mission is the preservation of deep water berthing and commerce within the Port. The Club is active.
